I was on the net and I happened to chance upon an article about a woman that became pregnant with 12 squid babies after dining on calamari! And it's not the first case reported.
As much as they wished that the squid was not much alive, it is actually able to discharge the squid's spermatophores. And because our skin in our mouth is not as thick, thus it is able to discharge structure that can be attached to our skin and even penetrate deeper in it.
The victim of the incident, whom was referred as "Octomom" described that she felt a sharp pain while eating a portion of a whole squid, and said she felt bug-like organisms in her mouth.
She was then hospitalized. Doctor had removed, those tiny pods (baby cephalopods) that are attached to the inside of her mouth.
Spermatophores are packages that carry semen and other tools that attached themselves to the body of female squid. It can be adhesive in some species of squid, allowing them to be easily glued to the surface of female's skin.
All in all, we just got to be careful with the seafood we eat, especially those that are raw. Goodnight peeps.
